GILBERT'S
MEANS NEVER HAVING TO SAY YOU'RE HUNGRY
You will be welcomed at our bistro in the Museum of East Anglian Life
by Caroline and her staff. Come and enjoy one of our homemade meals
or just a cup of tea with a slice of one of Eva’s cakes. In the warmer
weather come and sit with the ducks and enjoy a cream tea with our
homemade scones. Our beautiful new decking area allows a peaceful retreat
from the bustle of the town centre.
A few examples of our menu are:
- Light Lunches including Sandwiches/Jackets/Homemade Soup
For the more hungry try:
- A Stowmarket Breakfast – local bacon, sausages, free range eggs,
mushrooms, tomato, beans and toast
- Award Winning Steak and Guinness Pie with chunky chips
- Handmade Cold Cutting Game Pie with Coleslaw and Fresh Baby Leaf
Salad
- Suffolk Ham, Free Range Eggs and Chips
- Homemade Cheese and Basil Pasty with chips and salad
- Suffolk Cheese Ploughmans with local chutney
Please
note that the bistro is open to non-museum patrons and is open all
year round from 10-5pm. It is fully accessible for wheelchairs.
